12/31 17:00 – So my plan to live-blog the game from the stands was derailed by the horrid coverage from AT&T. Speaking of horrid coverage, the secondary was again the downfall of the Stanford Cardinal today. We kept them under 100 yards rushing, but gave up more than 400 passing. It was heartwrenching. Tavita Pritchard was serviceable, but Tavita Pritchard when the chips fell. Toby Gerhart again tried to carry the team on his back, but faced the best run defense he’d seen all year. His effort would have gone for 250 against San Jose State, but he was just over 100 today. I applaud the Cardinal for being in the game till the bitter end and for giving us the best year of Stanford Football in a decade. I’m excited for next year.
In other news, Oklahoma’s fans were much more bearable than I expected. Their band (and assorted spirit people), on the other hand, were, to put it lightly, “unpleasant”. They played songs and cadences while the Stanford team huddled, which I understand is an NCAA violation. Perhaps they were just bitter about getting beaten at the battle of the bands. In other annoying Oklahoma news, they have 6 guys who’s sole job is to shoot rifles when there is a kick-off. Again, I’m under the belief that this is illegal. I did enjoy one Stanford section taunting the Sooner Schooner with chants of “Dys-en-tery,” a reference to the Oregon Trail games.

What a baby! “illegal” is the wrong choice of words. Grow up and take your losses like an adult. Sooners played like crap and still beat you. Be glad they had an off day or it would not have been close.
