More than two years ago, George W. Bush began compiling a policy team of political and academic masterminds to advise his campaign, many of then from Stanford's own Hoover Institute. Now, while some of them may be heavily involved in the next presidential administration, many others have decided to sit on the sidelines in the first Republican administration in eight years.

Cowell Waits For RU-486
In the wake of the approval of the controversial abortion drug RU-486 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration last September, overseers of health insurance plans across the country face a difficult decision. If plans provide the drug, pro-life subscribers will object to their money being used to fund a procedure they find objectionable. If plans don't provide the drug, pro-choice subscribers will object to not having access to a procedure they view as necessary.
