Stanford Review - Archive - Volume XXVII - Issue 7 - Editor's Note
Editor's Note
A Word From The Editor
A lot has happened in fifteen years. Stanford has had three presidents. Freshmen have read Hamlet in Western Culture; Cultures, Ideas and Values; and now Introduction to the Humanities. Stanford had one budget crisis and may soon have another. Cardinal athletics won seven consecutive Sears Cups. And the Stanford Review has delivered in-depth, independent news coverage every step of the way.
This fifteenth anniversary issue celebrates everything that the Review has accomplished with the support of you, our readers. The editorial staff combed through our archives to find the best of the best: a collection of the ground-breaking articles that have defined the Review as a messenger of truth, and have changed the campus for the better.
This is also a special occasion because I have the privilege of introducing Henry Towsner, who will take the Editor-in-Chief helm beginning with the next issue. Henry has faithfully contributed to every issue in one way or another since joining the Review as a freshman. He's also an historian and a visionary, as you can see from his excellent account of the Review starting with its creation in 1987. Please join me in welcoming Henry as the Review begins its next fifteen years.
