Well, I’ll let you read the full story over at the Stanford Dish, but any story that describes a mistake so egregious that it makes Dean Richard Shaw “gnash his teeth” deserved a little more play: the Princeton Review mistakenly listed Stanford’s acceptance rate as double its true level (16 percent instead of 7.3 percent). I think that my edition of the Princeton Review from several years ago might actually be the other mistaken edition (as it also listed a relatively high acceptance rate for some reason); it’s really strange that the people at the Review couldn’t get it together to do basic due diligence (and, once the mistake was pointed out, basic copy-editing). Ah well, maybe had they come from Stanford instead…
