- Today at 12:15, Russell Flegal, Professor of Microbiology and Environmental Toxicology at UCSC, will speak on “All the Lead in China.” Pun appreciated. Y2E2 Building, Rm. 111.
- The History Department will be screening Ken Burns’s documentary ***Mark Twain***over the coming two weeks. Part I will be shown on April 7 at 7;30 PM, and Part II on April 15, also at 7:30. Both screenings will take place in the History Corner (Bldg. 200), Room 002. This year is the 100th anniversary of Twain’s death.
- Next Thursday, April 8, Profs. Mary and John Felstiner (Dept. of History and English, respectively) will give a talk–accompanied by music, art and poetry–on Creative Resistance to the Holocaust. The event will be held in Koret Hall at Hillel at 7:30 PM.
- I’m unclear as to why, but Malcolm Gladwell will be the keynote speaker for the **‘Medicine and the Muse’**celebration on Thursday, April 8, at 5 pM in Hewlett 370. The event will also feature presentations and exhibits by medical students.
- On Monday, April 12, former President of Ireland, Mary Robinson, will speak on ‘Human Rights Strategies in the 21st Century. President Robinson will speak in Cubberley Auditorium at 7 PM.
