As mentioned briefly [below](http://blog.stanfordreview.org/2010/01/04/1-4-2010-the-day-in-review/), the local ABC affiliate [is reporting](http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/politics&id=7200476) that Stanford has been labeled an “enemy” of Iran. The exact details are unclear (the report focuses on commentary from [Abbas Milani](http://www.stanford.edu/~amilani/), who was already [labeled dangerous](http://www.stanforddaily.com/cgi-bin/?p=1032399) by Iran back in August and there’s no particular citation of an announcement by Iran of Stanford University as an enemy), but if it’s true it may be a real sign that the regime is in fact disintegrating. After all, I’m the last person to say that Stanford isn’t important, but is it really worthy of being announced as an “enemy” organization by a state? If Khamenei sees this as his best move, he’s really grasping at straws. Might we be seeing regime change in [some form](http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/06/18/opinion/main5095841.shtml) soon?
