Stanford has improved this year largely due to junior running back Toby Gerhart and his breakout season. As of November 7th, he is 1st in rushing touchdowns in the PAC-10 and 6th nationwide. Furthermore, he has rushed for 100 yards six times this year and has 104 yards or more rushing in each of the games since the start of October. His most dominant performance was against Washington State in which he had over 100 yards in the first half and scored four touchdowns.

After Stanford beats USC and Cal, it will become clear why Gerhart is worthy of the Heisman trophy. As it stands now, it is difficult to generate hype for West Coast candidates that are not usually nationally televised. We encourage you to engage in a grass-roots campaign for Toby.
