The Stanford Football program has begun a video series entitled “The Program”, exposing viewers to the hard work and training regimen of the Stanford football team. According to a post on Stanford Football’s Facebook page, the show “chronicles the people, character and excellence of the Stanford Football program.” An interesting choice, certainly — Stanford’s football program is garnering massive national attention, including their own blog section on ESPN’s football blog, and, probably even more surprisingly, the attention of most of the student body. Last year Jim Harbaugh complained about all the empty seats in the Red Zone, and yet this year students are scrambling to get tickets to even the more lackluster of Stanford’s football games.
We’re in the midst of Stanford Football’s most exciting year in a very long time, so maybe the extra publicity’s a good call. I’d say it’s worth a watch.
