On Friday students staged a rally at the Valero Gas Station on campus to protest Proposition 23.
Proposition 23 would time-out the provisions of the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32). AB 32 requires cutting greenhouse gas emissions in California to 1990 levels by 2020. If Proposition 23 is passed, then the provisions of AB 32 will not have to be enacted until unemployment in the state drops to 5.5% or lower for at least an entire fiscal year.
