THE SICK MAN OF EUROPE RISES?

ERDAG GOKNAR, Assistant Professor of Turkish Studies at Duke University, will give a lecture examining how Turkish novelist ORHAN PAMUK “Reimagines the Ottoman Empire” tomorrow, Wednesday, May 19, in Encina West, Room 208. His novels include “Snow”, “The White Castle” and “My Name is Red.”

SERVICE-LEARNING SALSA

Professor Janice Ross will give a presentation on DANCE IN PRISON, a service-learning course that she began at Stanford eight years ago. Her program brings Stanford students to a local juvenile hall, where they teach dance to incarcerated teenagers. Professor Ross will speak on Wednesday, May 19th, at 5:15 in Paul Brest Hall, Building 4, Munger Graduate Residence (555 Salvatierra Walk).
