. . .that China, despite its positive economic progress, is still home to a tyrannical, repressive regime that allows little political freedom: According to a new report, China accounted for an overwhelming 87.3% of the world’s executions in 2008. Almost 9 out of every 10 state-mandated executions in 2008 took place in the PRC.
