Social Preview: April 16-April 21


As spring seems to have  (finally) made up its mind and the good ol’ California sun shines down on the Farm, the Review brings you our latest feature: Social Preview. Every Thursday we will pick a few on-and-off campus events that are sure to make your week a little more exciting!

Social:

Saturday, April 16 (9:00 pm): Phi Psi Battle of the bands (at Phi Kappa Psi)**. Watch Stanford bands slug it out for the coveted title and enjoy a special performance by last year’s winners, **the Sea People.

Tuesday, April 20 (9:00 pm): Tuesday @ the Pool Room (at Kairos- 586 Mayfiled). Danny Smith, Sean Holbert, and Ian Macartney will be performing Tuesday night, followed by an open mic.

Performances/Speakers:

Saturday, April 16 (8:00 pm): Sweeney Todd (at Memorial Auditorium). This is your last chance to see Ram’s Head production of Sweeney Todd. Tickets sold at the door for $10.

Saturday, April 16 (8:00pm): Stanford Chamber Chorale hosts the Royal Holloway Choir (at Memorial Church). Enjoy a chamber music collaboration of the reputed choir from the University of London, and Stanford’s own.

Sunday, April 17 (6:00 pm- 8:00 pm): Speakers Bureau presents- Perez Hilton (at Dinkelspiel Auditorium). If you love a juicy gossip, you’re probably planning on being there.

Sigma Chi Derby Days. **

Derby Days is a charitable event put on by your local Sigma Chi house. Proceeds will benefit the Huntsman Cancer Institute. There are several dates (and a couple of different locations) for this event, all listed below:Wednesday 4/20: Bake sale in White Plaza (12pm – 6pm) Thursday 4/21: Movie night and penny wars (7pm) Friday 4/22: Dunk tank in White Plaza (12pm-3pm) Saturday 4/23: Powderpuff Football (1pm-4pm)
